The Schools listed above are just some of the schools participating in the Senior High School Ethics Olympiads throughout May 2022.
"This was an excellent event. Our students greatly valued the experience and are still talking about the cases and their involvement. Thank you to all the judges who showed great patients and generosity in there comments and facilitation throughout the competition." (Feedback from a coach following the Queensland 2022 Senior Students Ethics Olympiad in May)
"The nature of this event being collaborative yet competitive is wonderful and so needed in our increasingly polarised world with algorithm-driven news feeds, where discourse is lacking. It was wonderful to have the expertise of skilled, highly qualified thinkers as moderators. ....Overall, a wonderful event." (Glenda McCarthy, Centralian Senior College - Alice Springs- Northern Territory- Australia)
"Many of our students have said this is the most meaningful extracurricular learning experience they have had. It was incredible to watch the students develop their ethical understanding and critical thinking skills - the cases and questions were all fantastic. I cannot recommend the Olympiad enough!!" (Aliesha Simmons -Selwyn School - Auckland - New Zealand - Following the Senior Ethics Olympiads in May 2021)
"You provide such great experiences for students to step into the world of philosophy and engage in philosophical thinking. It is so lovely to see students come alive and enjoy critical, respectful debate with one another. Thank you!" (NSW Coach- Senior Ethics Olympiad Training Day in April 2021)
"I introduced the Ethics Olympiad program on my arrival at St Leonard’s College in 2019. Year on year, the cocurricular program has gone from strength to strength, with our senior teams winning gold in Victoria and our middle school teams succeeding too. The College has trusted me to develop the religious education curriculum so that we foster critical thinking whilst engaging our students with different worldviews, concepts and philosophies. This curriculum, alongside the competition, has meant our students have confidence to engage with ethical issues and I can’t wait to see where we go from here. " (Meg Scott - St Leonard's College -Melbourne-Victoria-Australia 2022)
"A great competition, well organised and run. For a first time participant it could not have been easier. Congratulations on an outstanding event. All my students liked it more than debating (Which was not expected). Many thanks from Scots College."- (Craig Morrison Scots College Wellington New Zealand)
